LINEN TO LOVE

When the weather shifts from cold to balmy, reaching for our closet’s lightest layers is nearly instinctual. Our go-to? Well, linen of course. Cool, fresh and effortless, on warm sun-drenched days, it’s truly the greatest comfort of all.

With summer’s gauziest fabric on our minds, we’ve decided to make our very own care and wear guide. Here’s how we’re making our linen last.

WASHING

  • Linen can be both machine and hand-washed. In fact, with every wash it actually becomes softer and more lustrous.

  • To keep the colour of your linen fresh, wash in lukewarm or cold water using a gentle detergent. Linen is highly absorbent, so it’s always best to wash separately from other fabrics.

DRYING

  • Let your linen clothing dry naturally. Simply reshape whilst damp and leave to dry.

  • To keep your white linen pants, shirts and tops looking bright, dry in the shade or away from direct sunlight. This will help avoid the yellowing of lighter colours.

IRONING

  • Turn inside-out and run your iron across whilst the linen is still a little bit damp – best results, every time.

  • Extra wrinkles? Lay a damp, light-coloured cloth over your linen and run a warm iron on the steam setting across it.

STORING

  • At the end of the warm season, store clean linen in a cool, dry place.

  • Try to store your favourite linen styles as flat as possible to avoid wrinkling and creasing.

LINEN FOUR WAYS

TUCK OR TIE

For leisure moments, softly tuck-in or tie-up your linen shirt. Roll the sleeves and wear with a loose, open collar for a more laid-back look.

TWIN SETS

Summer's (un)official uniform: floaty linen sets. Style beneath a JAG denim jacket, and you've found the answer to all your seasonal wardrobe woes.

WEEKEND EASE

When the dress code warrants ‘Sunday casual,’ slip on a relaxed linen dress with a playfully-hued shirt tied around the waist. It adds intrigue whilst still coming off as effortless.

DRESS IT UP

For beachside brunch, dinner parties or sunset drinks…pair a button detailed skirt with a gently plunging top, and finish with your favourite neutral heel.
