After 50 years of fashion history, JAG has arrived at its 50th birthday, and how better to celebrate than with a signature denim shape? We’ve been doing it for half a century.
Founded on Melbourne’s bustling Chapel Street in 1972, by Australian designer Adele Palmer, JAG established its place in the Australian fashion landscape by fast becoming a staple brand with its innovative design in stylish casual wear.
Two years later and the brand soon became a Hollywood favourite, worn by icons such as Robert Redford, Paul Newman, John Lennon, Cher more — all who shopped the brand from its local Beverley Hills boutique. JAG was soon stocked by all the best American fashion retailers, becoming a familiar name across the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Japan.

For decades, JAG has been a staple among Aussies and Americans alike. Our signature is easy styling worn back with denim. Our founding DNA has always been jeans and sportswear, processed, stone-washed, over-dyed, relaxed and slightly recycled. It’s with this DNA in mind that we introduce our heritage denim jacket.

This must-have denim jacket has been crafted from a 98% cotton construction, featuring a relaxed and oversized unisex fit, functional front chest pockets, and made complete with our iconic JAG embroidered patch to the back. Worn by many and made famous by Guy Leech in the 1980’s, it was a no-brainer to bring back. Branded with our signature metal hardware, this limited edition cut and revival piece won’t last long.
Now available in washed black denim and authentic blue denim so that you can find your perfect fit and celebrate JAG’s history in all it’s glory.
