JAG recently travelled to Bali for a little Q&A catch up with Nicole.
Describe your style?Laidback casual with trend pieces mixed back with denim. I look for the season’s newest shapes, colours and prints, then wear them in a chilled way.
Favourite summer trend?I love the statement sleeve. It’s so cool and different, and it’s really the only new thing that’s around this season. Ruffles are also another fave, and linen.
Your perfect way to spend summer holidays? In the sun. I’ll always book a holiday that’s by the coast at a destination that has surf, yoga and the chance for sunset drinks. So… Bondi, Byron Bay and Bali are my three fave places to spend summer holidays.
Favourite beach in Bali?I love Echo Beach as the vibe is good; sitting under an umbrella, surfing right out front, getting a shoulder massage and having a sunset beer.
Favourite summer tunes?I am going to admit, I love all the cheesy pop music that’s on rotation on any radio station. Right now, I like anything uplifting like Dope Lemon, Jonas Blue, Ed Sheeran and The Chainsmokers & Coldplay song – ‘Something Like This.’
Favourite eatery in Bondi? In Bali?In Bondi, I have two: Da Orazio, simple Italian food that is always delicious and the vibe there is good, and the Shop Wine Bar… it’s my local hang. I am all about the bacon and egg brekky roll and cheese plate in the afternoon. In Bali, La Brisa, a new beachside bar that looks like being in Tulum.
Best part of 2017?Being able to travel between Sydney and Bali doing what I love best – photo shoots and more photo shoots in amazing tropical destinations. Work life balance at its finest.

Favourite holiday destination?I would’ve said Bali if I wasn’t working here so much. As of now, it’s more of a working place than a holiday destination, so I’m going to say Mykonos Greece as I have spent so many summers there and each time it’s amazing.
How do you wear denim in summer?Always denim shorts. I would say, I own at least ten pairs. I love teaming a plain tee with denim shorts or something ruffled with denim shorts and adding sandals or boots. I also have quite a collection of denim dresses. They are so comfy for working on shoots, especially because most of them have pockets. At night, if denim shorts are too casual for where I’m going, I’ll take a skinny jean with a silk top or some type of statement top with heels. If I’m feeling more sporty for running around doing errands, I’ll add canvas Superga’s, a ripped boyfriend jean and a black top... maybe add some type of scarf around my neck or in my hair depending on the vibe of the day.
